Social Distancing

We would like to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure safe social distancing when you visit Fingland Pet Hotel.

We are continuing with rigorous cleaning regimes in our reception, kennels and cattery buildings. We use sanitising wipes for regularly touched areas around doors and handles, kitchen areas and our new card machine.

Our main gate will be open but the side gate will be closed and we will make arrangements with you for specific check-in and check-out times and for pet food sales. If you arrive and the gate is closed please honk your horn or phone our mobile number and we will come and open the gate for you.
If you think you may have the COVID 19 virus then please do not attend our site.

Shop Services

We would encourage you to ring orders through, pay by bank transfer if possible or use your debit/credit card with our new contactless machine and then collect via pre-arranged appointment. Alternatively we are very happy to make local deliveries to your home at no extra charge.

Hotel Services

We are now open and eager to receive our pet guests. We have a slightly different check in/check out procedure to help achieve social distancing and we also have a new card machine to help with contactless payment too. Don’t forget we can also offer home collection and drop-off with contactless procedures in case you don’t want to venture out but need your pet looked after.

We know that for many of you holidays abroad will be affected and your booking at Fingland may be impacted. Don’t worry – just let us know as soon as you can of any changes to your booking. The Hotel calendar is still very busy for the summer but this is almost certainly likely to change and vacancies will undoubtedly open up, so it is always worth checking with us if you want to holiday in the UK.

What to expect when you check-in/out

  • We will agree times and book appointments with you by phone a couple of days before your booking to limit customers arriving together, we will also talk through any pet health issues, medication requirements or any other issues you need to talk to us about, so that when you arrive all procedures will have been gone through and you can simply leave your pet with us.
  • If there is another customer in the car park when you arrive, please wait patiently in your car until they have gone.
  • We will sanitise our hands before going to collect or receive a pet, we will also wear protective gloves.
  • Dogs – to ensure a 2 metre distance please keep dogs on their lead and walk them from your car to the gate at the rear of the kennels (we will be in the yard and paddock to help direct you), open the gate and put your dog into the “quadrant area”, if possible remove your lead and then retreat through the gate and close and lock behind you, we will be waiting in the paddock and once the external gate is closed we will open the gate to the paddock and call the dog through – hand sanitiser is available next to the gate to enable you to sanitise hands – this will ensure a safe hand over in an outside secure area. We will sanitise the gate after your departure. The reverse procedure is used to return your dog. Medication or essential food can be left on the bench outside our reception in the collection box provided.
  • Cats – We will meet you outside the cattery (at a safe distance) you will leave the basket on the floor and we will take the cat into the cattery so you can leave to start your holiday, we will settle your cat(s) into their room and then sanitise the carrier and keep this in the cattery for you. Medication or essential food can be left in the collection box outside the cattery. When you return to collect, we will have your cat ready in their carrier and will bring them out to your car for you, wiping the handle with a sanitising wipe before you pick it up.
  • Unfortunately you will not be allowed to bring your own blankets, toys, treats etc for the time being. We can still accept food for dogs/cats on special diets or essential medication – please sanitise the items before you leave home and we will also sanitise again when we receive them.
  • Vaccination cards – please take a photo of your vaccination card and send it to us by email or text at least 2-3 days prior to your check-in date, just make sure your pets name is visible and the most recent vaccination entry is clear.
  • Payment – we encourage the use of payment via bank transfer (please make payment 2-3 days before your stay to help prevent delays) or, if this is not possible, by contactless card payment when you collect your pet at the end of their stay.
  • We will wipe pets with a pet safe disposable wipe when they arrive. All wipes will be disposed of immediately after use.
Collection Service

If we are transporting pets, we will disinfect any surfaces that the pet(s) has come into contact within our vehicle with a pet-safe disinfectant spray and/or wipe surfaces, before transporting other pets. We will make an appointment with you for collection/drop off and will keep a safe 2 metre distance when we arrive at your property.
